1. Educational Purposes Only
FaraidHub provides educational resources designed to help Muslims understand the principles of Islamic inheritance (Faraid), Islamic wills (Wasiyyah), Zakat, and related aspects of Islamic estate planning. Our calculators, articles, guides and downloadable documents are intended to explain these topics in an accessible and practical way — they should be viewed as educational tools rather than definitive legal or religious authority.
Nothing published on this website constitutes:
- Legal advice
- Tax advice
- Financial or investment advice
- Estate planning advice
- A fatwa or binding Islamic ruling
- A substitute for advice from qualified professionals
Using this website does not create an attorney-client, financial adviser-client or scholar-student relationship.
2. Accuracy of Information
We make every reasonable effort to ensure our calculators and educational content accurately reflect the recognised principles of Islamic jurisprudence and applicable legislation where referenced. Our Islamic Inheritance Calculator has been developed using the recognised positions of the four major Sunni schools of jurisprudence — Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i and Hanbali. Where scholarly differences exist, the calculator applies the rules associated with the madhab selected by the user.
Islamic inheritance is one of the most detailed and technically complex areas of Islamic law, and civil succession and tax laws continue to evolve. We cannot guarantee that every calculation, article or document will be free from error, complete in every circumstance, suitable for every jurisdiction, or applicable to every family structure. You should independently verify all information before relying upon it.
3. Calculator Results
Our calculators — the Islamic Inheritance Calculator, Islamic Will Generator, Zakat Calculator, South African Estate Duty Calculator, and any future tools — are designed to assist users in understanding Islamic estate planning. Results depend entirely on the information entered; incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate inputs will produce incorrect outputs.
The calculators may not account for every circumstance, including but not limited to: complex family structures, multiple marriages, cross-border estates, trusts and business entities, court orders, missing or disputed heirs, adoption and guardianship issues, country-specific succession laws, future legislative changes, and exceptional jurisprudential cases. Calculator results should be treated as educational guidance, not legally binding determinations.
4. Islamic Will Generator
The Islamic Will Generator produces a template document intended to assist users in preparing an Islamic Will (Wasiyyah). We do not guarantee that any generated document will satisfy the legal requirements of every country or jurisdiction. You remain solely responsible for ensuring the will complies with local law, is correctly signed and witnessed, meets any jurisdiction-specific requirements, and accurately reflects your wishes.
Where your estate involves substantial assets, overseas property, trusts, blended families or other complex matters, obtain advice from both a qualified attorney and an Islamic scholar before executing your will.
5. Islamic and Legal Advice
Islamic inheritance often requires both religious and legal interpretation. Before distributing an estate — or relying on any calculation generated by this website — consult a qualified Islamic scholar familiar with your madhab, a solicitor, attorney or estate planning professional qualified in your jurisdiction, and a tax adviser where estate or inheritance taxes may apply.
Professional advice is particularly important where the estate involves multiple jurisdictions, high-value assets, business ownership, trust structures, pension funds, deferred Mahr obligations, multiple spouses or blended families, simultaneous deaths or missing persons, non-Muslim heirs or interfaith marriages, disputed heirs, or any issue involving legal uncertainty.
6. Jurisdictional Differences
The legal recognition and enforcement of Islamic inheritance vary considerably between countries. The principles explained on FaraidHub are based primarily on classical Sunni Islamic jurisprudence, as implemented by our Islamic Inheritance Calculator. In many jurisdictions, secular intestacy laws apply automatically unless a legally valid will has been prepared in accordance with local legislation. It is your responsibility to ensure that any estate planning documents comply with the laws of your country.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FaraidHub, its owners, contributors, affiliates and service providers shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from or relating to: use of this website, reliance on calculator results, reliance on educational content, preparation or execution of an Islamic Will, estate planning decisions, distribution of an estate, financial or tax consequences, family disputes, legal proceedings, technical errors or interruptions, or inaccuracies, omissions or outdated information.
This limitation applies whether the alleged liability arises in contract, delict (tort), negligence or otherwise. Your use of this website is entirely at your own risk.
